Tommy Dreiling Home, Village of Colleyville

Tuscany comes to the Village at Colleyville.  Peyton Thomas Homes and Tommy Dreiling have blended careful detail with elegance to create a home designed for convenience. While much of this home is currently dedicated to office space for Mr. Dreiling and his staff, it is easy to see how it combines the best of luxury with utmost convenience and ease of living.  With very little lawn or gardens, the homeowner need not toil in the Texas heat or, indeed, spend any time on yard maintenance.  A private clubhouse with a pool provides extra space for entertaining and poolside pleasures. Yet this 3 bedroom home has over 3700 square feet of living space.

From the graceful porch with a patterned concrete surface, a glass and iron door opens into a two-story foyer that divides the living room from the dining room.  The beamed, coffered ceiling of the living room repeats the dark wood of the scraped wood floors.  The hand glazed, golden-toned walls, curved archways, and curved windows throughout this home suggest the rustic charm of old Italy.  All of the woodwork and window frames are the same dark hand scraped wood as the floors.

To the left of the entrance, a formal dining room with a large round table and tapestry of the Italian countryside provide space for formal meals. A formal powder room off the front hall continues the theme of graceful elegance.

The back of the home is dedicated to comfortable family living.  The massive gourmet kitchen with granite counters and lots of storage space is a dream come true for any serious cook.  The built-in, hooded stainless steel stove, for example, features 6 burners. The island includes a separate prep sink and the cabinets are more than adequate to house the largest collections of kitchen and dining accessories.  Adjoining the kitchen, the breakfast room houses a large round table and opens onto an enclosed patio.  A real surprise, the utility room is as large as those in much larger homes.  A two story family room with fireplace, high round windows, and wet bar completes this section of the home.

The stairway and upstairs gallery hall with wrought iron railings overlook the family room.  On the back of the home, the second floor master suite includes a Jacuzzi tub, large walk-in closet, and state-of-the art surfaces.  Next to the master suite, double doors open into a large room that could be a media room, game room, or library.  Each of the front bedrooms includes its own bathroom and more generous closets.

Perhaps the best part of the Dreiling home is its location in the Village of Colleyville.  Residents enjoy the best of luxury living and the amenities of a small town. They can walk to the library, to the town hall, and to many of Colleyville’s best restaurants.  Rumor has it that residents have come to enjoy their evenings either strolling in the village or just relaxing on their porches and balconies that overlook the common areas.
