Services
CWC has been a continuing supporter of The Women's Shelter, Women's Haven of Tarrant County, Inc., the Women's Center of Tarrant County and Open Arms Home, Inc. Grants to these and similar agencies provide funding for transportation; housing and food; and education and therapy for displaced and abused women and their children.Social Services
Recognizing the broader needs of families on our area, CWC targets agencies and projects that provide for the economically and physically challenged. Grants have been awarded for several capital and operations projects at GRACE, equipment needs for clients of the Neuro-Fitness Foundation and help for indigent cancer patients through Cancer Care Services.Elderly
CWC has funded home-delivery and congregate lunches in surrounding communities through Metroport Meals on Wheels, as well as contributing to its capital fund. The Mental Health Association of Tarrant County has used CWC grants for its Ombudsman Program for residents in long term care facilities, and Mid-Cities Care Corps. Grants have helped with emergency home repairs and durable goods purchases, all with primarily elderly clients.Community
Support of Colleyville's lovely Community Center is an example of CWC funding over several years. Funds also have been set aside for a community library. CWC grants also support the community, summer and educational programs of The Arts Council of North East Tarrant County, including scholarships for at-risk students.Student Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to deserving graduating seniors from the Colleyville-Grapevine, HEB and Carroll Independent School Districts.Children
In addition to programs in the above categories that benefit children, grants to Alliance for Children, the Harris Methodist Health Foundation, Summer Reading Club, Imagisphere Children's Museum and Summer Santa have directly financed counseling and therapy, car safety seat purchase and education, books and summer camps for needy children.
